Utterly depressing. I use numbers a great deal at work and I despair when we get a new starter who has just left school/college (or uni for that matter) when I have to try and explain some very basic maths calculations. They simply do not grasp the basics - and this isn’t me being cocky because I’m used to doing what I do. I’m talking subtraction, percentages, ratios. None of it is difficult. Mind you, I’ve still not found a practical use for Venn Diagrams……………..
